This is what an example eating day of mine can look like. Poor Henning never had a say. He is just left with having to eat whatever I cook.
With that said, I don’t force him to eat fish (maybe I should though!) since he really doesn’t like anything that comes out of the water (your local resident blogger and other bikini girls excluded).
I am still trying to find a good balance between food he likes without going totally crazy on him with my own ways of eating. I’ll let him smuggle the odd unhealthy snack in there for himself. Here are, however, a few of my favourites when it comes to my own habits:
Right after getting up
Glass of water with a bit of lemon
Breakfast (between 7 and 8 am)
Porridge (whole-wheat Oatmeal cooked in water) with Blueberries, Walnuts, a scoop of Protein Powder and a splash of Skim Milk. Omega 3, Multivitamin and Cranberry Capsule.
Mid-morning Snack (between 10 and 10.30 am)
0% Greek Yoghurt with a diced Granny Smith apple, Almonds and Honey
Lunch (around 1 and 1.30 pm)
Whole-Wheat pasta with Feta and fresh vegetables
Mid-afternoon Snack (around 4 pm)
Whole-Wheat Bread with Peanut butter and half a banana
Dinner (between 7 and 8 pm)
Stir fried Chicken with Broccoli, Mushrooms and Cashew-Nuts on Brown Rice
Looking at that list, I can’t believe I just wrote that down. My mom still has to get used to the thought that I am actually eating vegetables.. Most of these ideas are from the official Insanity nutrition guide or slightly modified version there of.
I also always have a 0.74l water bottle with me which I tend to refill several times during the day to make sure I drink enough.
The measuring cups up there in the picture are courtesy of Norm and Kelly (McCarthy) Harvey. They generously sent me both a whole set of measuring cups and spoons from the States to go with the nutrition guides. Thanks again so much you guys!Tags: Eating Healthy, Fitness, Nutrition, Recipes, Weight Loss
